Allotments

Have you ever thought of taking on an allotment?  Sherfield on Loddon Parish Council has an allotment site located close to the Village Green.

There is a group of enthusiastic allotment holders (Sherfield Allotment Association).  They would be pleased to help you settle in and give you advice and support if you need it.  Allotment plots are offered as full, half or quarter plots (this is a new size plot and is subject to demand).

The rates are as follows:
For Sherfield on Loddon residents:
Large Plot £40
Small Plot £20
Quarter Plot (rent to be agreed at Full Council meeting on 12 September 2017)

For out of Parish residents:
Large Plot £60
Small Plot £35
Quarter Plot (rent to be agreed at Full Council meeting on 12 September 2017)

There is a very limited number of 'quarter' plots.  If there is sufficient demand, further quarter plots may be made available.  Recently one plot has been converted as a shared community plot to provide accessible raised beds.  Please speak to Bob Weller if you are interested in either of these options.

If you would like to go on the waiting list please contact the allotment manager, Bob Weller, on 01256 881066 or by email to bobweller26@msn.com.  You can download a copy of the application form.

Rents have not been increased for 4 years.  Senior citizens and those on fixed benefits will continue to pay at half the above rates.  Please contact the Parish Clerk if you think you qualify for a reduction.

Following a review of deposits, the Parish Council has set the deposit at £25 for all plots.  This will be refundable at the end of the tenancy provided the plot is left in a suitable condition for re-letting.  New tenants who live outside the parish of Sherfield on Loddon will incur an additional non-refundable administration charge of £10 per plot.

The updated Tenancy Agreement shows the terms and conditions of the allotments.

Here is a copy of the agreement of the allotment manager's responsibilities and the Parish Council's responsibilities.

Any existing tenants wishing to give up their plots should confirm their intention to do so by writing to the Parish Council.  This form may be used and can be submitted to Bob Weller.
