*Bramley Road - new water main installation
Update 8 December 2017 from South East Water
This week we have successfully pressure tested our new pipeline before work starts on Monday to lay the final section of main and connect to our existing water network.
For the safety of the public and our workforce traffic lights will be in operation along the Aldermaston Road (A340) at the junction with Bramley Road from Monday (11 Dec) until Friday (15 Dec).
As well as laying the final section of pipe, on Monday we will be reinstating our trenches along Bramley Road. We will need to allow time for the tarmac to cure here so we expect to re-open Bramley Road by the end of Wednesday.
Thank you to local residents and motorists for your patience.
Roadworks planned from 16 October 2017 for approximately 30 weeks
As part of South East Water's ongoing programme of improvements to the water supply network, a section of new water main is planned along Bramley Road. While construction work is underway, the road will be closed as a safety precaution. This will be under a rolling road closure with the new water main being installed in sections before that section is reinstated and the work moves to the next stage. Temporary traffic lights will be in operation for part of the work located on the A340 Aldermaston and Silchester Road. Most work will be carried out during normal working hours, but there may be some weekend work.
