* Operation Resilience
As part of the programme of works being undertaken by Operation Resilience we will be undertaking Carriageway Resurfacing along the A33 in two locations:
Currently, the work is programmed to start at the end of September 2019 and is estimated to take 5 weeks to complete (Monday – Friday).
In order to undertake the works safely it will be necessary to close the road between Thornhill Way and Turgis Green and traffic will be diverted along the A339, A30 & B3349. Due to the impact the closure will have on traffic and to minimise disruption, it is necessary to carry out this work at night between 20:00 and 06:00hrs.
We are aware of the issues created by night working and will endeavour to keep noise to a minimum during the works. Advance warning letters are being distributed to advise the local residents who may be affected by the noise.
We will also be undertaking minor drainage and signage works between the Thornhill Way junction and Turgis Green (BP garage), which will be carried out between 09:30 and 16:00hrs under temporary traffic lights in the days before and after the resurfacing.
Information signs advising road users of the works will be erected approximately 2 weeks before the start of works. A further letter will be sent to local residents, and an email will be sent to Chineham Parish Council, Sherfield Park Parish Council, Sherfield-on-Loddon Parish Council & Stratfield Turgis Parish Council to advise them accordingly of the start date and working hours.
